Certain entry fields in iSupport include an HTML-based text editor toolbar to manipulate text and insert images. For each support representative, display of the toolbar depends on Text Editor Toolbar field in the Preferences screen: you can display the toolbar when you place your cursor in a toolbar-enabled field (Popup), retain display the toolbar over those fields (Always Show), or prevent display of the toolbar in those fields (Never Show). Note that if you select Never Show, you can still display the toolbar by clicking the field label link that displays a dialog for completing the field.
Tooltips with keyboard shortcuts display as you hover over each icon with the mouse. By default the Tab key will move from field to field in fields with the text editor; you can enable the Tab key to insert spaces instead by setting an option in the Preferences screen.
The toolbar options are similar to those in Microsoft Word, with the following exceptions:
The Hyperlink Manager icon enables you to create a URL hyperlink or email link. Note that this option will appear if the Use Link Manager and Paste HTML in Text Editor Toolbar setting is enabled on the Basics tab in the Global Settings screen. To remove all formatting from a link, select the link and click the Remove Link icon.
Use the Hyperlink tab to create a hyperlink by entering a web address and text of the link.
Use the E-mail tab to create an email link that will open the default email application on your machine and prompt you to send a message to the provided addressee.
The Insert Work Item Link icon enables you to, after pasting or typing a work item number, insert a link that customers and support representatives can use to open a work item in a new window.
The Insert Symbol icon displays a dropdown list of special characters for insertion.
You can use the Image Upload icon to paste saved images. Click the Browse button in the Insert Image dialog and select the image. The image will be inserted immediately. The image will be saved in a folder with the name of the support representative inserting the image. Images are saved in the database and associated with directories on which group access restrictions can be enabled; this is done via the Options and Tools | Administer | Image Management configuration screen. (Note that images in inbound email are stored as attachments.)
After inserting an image, you can right-click on it and select:
Image Map Editor to create an area on which, if a user clicks on it, will take the user to a specified URL.
Properties to create a border, enter alternate text and a description, and other options.
