If AD Scan is selected in the Scan Type field, the AD Settings tab appears in the Asset Scanning and Monitoring screen. You can specify the scan to:
Scan all machine names known by the domain controller
Scan using an LDAP query for locating a specific set of machines.

Scan Using Query LDAP Query |
Select this field to use an LDAP query for locating a specific set of machines. LDAP (Light Weight Directory Access Protocol) defines how information can be accessed in directories. In the example on the previous page, the query locates all machine names known by the domain controller that begin with “SALES”.
